Stars

They lie on their backs, shoulder to shoulder,
staring up at the stars. Wondering, is she the one?
Is he? But the most important thing is this moment;
the cool of the grass, the warmth of each other.
The universe hears their question. Attention and
patience will bring the reply. Until then,
with hopeful smiles on their faces,
they wish on each falling star.

Standing now, hand in hand. The Milky Way
stretching across the sky, looks brighter
than ever. Are we really made of stars?
These two people feel that to be true.
The night sky fills them with reverence,
wonderment, and love. They turn toward
each other. And the stars in each other’s
eyes give them the answer they seek.

Seasonal Beauty

Hi, everyone. Lately I’ve been enjoying the colors of Spring. Around here, pink is the primary color of the season (aside from the yellow pollen). I took a few pictures of the cherry blossoms in my neighborhood that I thought I would share with you all. I hope you enjoy.

Everyday Beauty

Inspired by my friend, Birgit’s occasonal posts on this subject here are a few examples of hidden beauty I have captured.

Something about this pine cone caught my attention and I like the way this picture turned out.

I almost left this picture out because it’s out of focus. But the rose is too pretty not to share.

I walked outside one morning to get the newspaper and glanced up at the sky. This is what I saw and though it was really pretty.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these as much as I have. As always, I welcome any comments/feedback.

Peace

Why does the world have to move so quickly?

If only it would slow down;

And allow us more opportunity

To enjoy all that surrounds;

Just to be quiet and listen to nature;

And acquaint ourselves with its stature;

We might find peace;

And maybe some relief;

From this world that never seems to slow down

On Beauty

I see beauty everywhere;

In the heavens;

In nature;

In the eyes, the smile, the voice, and the words of a loved one;

In a song;

In a painting, sculpture, architecture, and prose;

In love expressed;

In happiness;

This world is full of beauty;

Where do you see it?
